Beauty Tips for Spring: Part III

We talked about some of the hottest makeup tips for spring last week—today I’m going to introduce more spring beauty tips to help you stay chic in the warmer days.

1. Manicure and Pedicure Trends

Keep your nails tidy and healthy looking this spring! Get neat, tidy nails and soft hands by regularly treating yourself to a manicure. You can visit a professional manicurist or give yourself manicures at home if you have the right tools. Here are some items you might need: nail polish remover, nail file, cuticle oil, nail scissors, white block buffer, base coat and top coat polish, color polish, and hair dryer. Using these tools, invest 20 to 30 minutes weekly and get a professional looking manicure at home without the cost. Say goodbye to stubby nails this season—use a nail file to help shape the nail, followed by cuticle work and a hand and foot massage to relieve stress and tension.
When getting manicures and pedicures, the trick is to find the right shape and color that best suits your style. According to fashion experts, “squoval” shapes (meaning square but oval/rounded at the edges) are in this spring, while extremely square or rounded nails are out. As for colors, the latest trend is all about being classic. Depending on your mood, go for classics like reds and browns or try trendy colors like pepto pinks and pool blues. Remember, beautiful nails will never go out of style. Keep good care of your nails this spring/summer and stay stylish.

2. Hairstyle Tips for Spring/Summer

In the spring to summer time, hair tends to get weighed down and flat due to humidity and temperature changes. Weak, dull hair is harder to style—so don’t forget to treat yourself to shine boosting treatments to get glossy, lustrous hair. After spending days at the beach, hair usually gets dry and brittle, so it’s always a good idea to deep condition your hair using hydrating masks or concentrated moisturizers to replenish moisture and shine. If you are concerned about irritating scalp conditions like eczema and dandruff, try scalp therapy to boost blood circulation and to infuse your hair with vitamins, moisture, and volume. Whenever possible, refrain from blow drying and rubbing hair with a towel to avoid damaging the ends—let the towel soak up water for a few minutes and let your hair dry naturally to eliminate frizziness.

Play with these tips and stay on top of trends!
