1. Tinted Moisturizers are in
As we talked about last week, flawless, glowing skin is the key for spring to summer makeup. In the warmer days, it’s generally recommended that you stay away from thick foundations. If you want a more natural look instead of a “cakey” look, opt for sheer, lightweight tinted moisturizers that give you good coverage while moisturizing and protecting the skin. Tinted moisturizers have been popular for a few seasons, and many makeup artists say they are a must-have purchase for any style-conscious consumer this season. Although they may give lighter coverage than regular foundations, tinted moisturizers cover most of your blemishes and help you achieve a super natural look. Choose a color closest to your natural skin tone so you can achieve a dewy look, which is a popular makeup trend this spring. Light tinted moisturizers help you wear the kind of makeup that make you look like you don’t have any makeup on. Many tinted moisturizers have SPF in it for added protection from the harmful UV rays—so if you would like to skip the sunscreen, make sure you wear multifunctional products like SPF-included lotions or moisturizers to protect your skin from sun damage. And don’t forget to cover under-eye circles and any imperfections with a good quality concealer so your skin looks even and smooth.

2. Have fun with colors
Springtime is all about bright hues--so have fun with makeup this season. First, go bright on the eyes—experiment with vibrant colors like pink, green, silver and gold. Apply a lighter shade of beige, white, or light gold to the center of the eyelids and then follow with a darker, glamorous shade to create a layering effect. Apply a liner very close to the lashes and finish off with a lengthening mascara to make your eyes pop. In the spring to summer time, it’s a good idea to wear waterproof mascara so your makeup won’t smudge. If your eye makeup is dark, go light on the lips; apply hydrating lip glosses in neutral tones like beiges or light pinks. If you normally go soft on the eyes, accent your lips with lipsticks in trendy, bold colors like bright reds. To make the color stay, add a bit of foundation and powder before you apply the lipstick on. And don’t forget to wear a blusher in lovely peaches or golden browns to give radiance to the skin.
Keep these tips in mind and stay stylish! We will continue our discussion on spring beauty tips next week.
